Background: Ian Thomson has been a student of Saburo Takayasu Sensei since 1987.
Dojo History: The Marrickville dojo was created in 2024 under the support and guidance of the Takemusu Aiki Association. It started with a group of Takayasu Sensei’s students who wanted to be able to train closer to home but haven’t been able to after the main dojo moved to North Sydney. The Marrickville dojo is currently working on increasing the number of available classes and welcomes students of all levels.
Dojo Philosophy: The Marrickville dojo’s philosophy is greatly influenced by the main dojo as all instructors at the Marrickville dojo have studied under Takayasu Sensei.

Association Membership Fee: $100 first year / $25 for renewal
First Session: Free
Monthly Fee:
1 class per week: $60 – up to 5 classes per month
2 classes per week: $115 – up to 10 classes per month
Casual Training Fee : $20
($15 for visiting students who are already paying monthly fee at another association dojo)
